Fawaz Alakeel

Fawaz Alakeel stands among Saudi Arabia’s most accomplished rising professionals. Fawaz brings deep experience in designing strategy, business development, leading global teams and delivering complex, high-value programs. His projects require complex coordination and teamwork across national and cultural lines.
As Plans Director for the Saudi Ministry of Defense, Fawaz led strategic planning and budgeting initiatives including the design of the 10-year and 5-year plans. Earlier, he was Director in the Saudi Ministry of Defense Transformation Program where he led program analysis and evaluation efforts to accelerate transformation and manage program costs.
Always a business-minded leader, Fawaz was Chief Executive of a leading Saudi privately-held defense company and managed communication system and infrastructure projects (including sensitive C4I Systems) for the Saudi Information Technology and Communication Commission. He led the establishment of a joint venture between an American entity and the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) to develop new naval systems.
During his service as an officer in the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF), Fawaz managed the engineering department of the Jubail Shipyard. He also led the Electronics and Communications shop and served as IT and electronics engineer in Jubail.
Fawaz earned his Bachelor’s degree at King Faisal University in Dammam and Master Degrees in electronic engineering at the prestigious École Nationale Supérieure de Techniques Avancées (ENSIETA) in Brest, France. He is a graduate of Saudi Arabia’s elite MISK Foundation Vision 2030 Leader’s program sponsored by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman.  Fawaz communicates in Arabic, French and English.
